New obsession (well, not really)

I haven't been updated this blog for almost a year! How lazy!
As some of you may notice that I mostly and constantly active on twitter but I spent half an hour staring at this non-update blog, I have decided that I will blog more often from now on (mind you, it might be 2-3 posts per month but hey! It is better than nothing, aye?).

It could be about cosmetics, makeup as I have a huge profound obsession in
OR  my "new obsession " - playing guitar!! Yeah you read it right...

Playing guitar is something that I have been obsessed with for quite a big while.
You might think that it's Kurt Cobain that brought me to it.
No, you are wrong. Eric Clapton, Rory Gallagher, SRV and George Harrison that gave me inspiration
and of course.... like the colour of my beloved Chelsea Football Club -
I choosed to play BLUES! (pretty much unrelated but there you get it).
Who would have thought that I would learn guitar and being serious with it?
I didn't think that I would love playing it but this guitar playing seriously helps me cope with major depression better. It's Music therapy, people say!

Just a few spontaneous update for today, more for later.

 Ciao xxx

Pubpeab Takes Over Thailand

The new craze taking Thailand by storm finds a home and thousands of fans on Facebook. Photos from the Facebook.

In mid-June, a new page emerged on Facebook that has since come to challenge the world's leading photographic craze and currently has more than 241,190 registered 'likes'. The Facebook page was published on the 17th of June by PostProduction of FuKDuK TV Thailand with the slogan "Have you Pubpeabed today? No harm, but Thai charming and your superiors will love you." Pubpeab is the traditional Thai practice of sitting in a respectful position with legs tucked to the side and hands folded over the sitter's lap. It might seem unusual but considering the previous fad that inspired it, Pubpeab seems a much safer and more graceful alternative. The group reportedly started in response to an internet image of a monk 'planking'.

Initiated in Australia in 2008, 'Planking' took off earlier this year as one of the newest and biggest internet phenomenons that actually requires physical activity. The pose involves lying stiff as a plank with arms tucked closely to the body across one or more surfaces. While most participants will settle for planking in unusual or awkward locations, others took it to dangerous extremes. In May, Acton Beale (a 20 year old man from Brisbane), fell to his death after attempting to plank on a 7th story balcony. Since then, the practice has garnered much negative attention.

This was the case in Thailand where religious officials publicly expressed disappointment with the planking monk. A university assistant rector ever offered a reward so that he could be punished although the man's identity was never discovered. While Pubpeab fans have continued the planking trend of posing in unusual locations, the practice is seen as a positive opportunity to promote Thai culture by appropriating a foreign craze. The pose is an integral element of the Thai culture, so much so that it is used every day. It is used for talking to teachers, elderly people and Buddhists use it when going into temples as a sign of respect. The movement was even approved by Ladda Tangsupachi, the Cultural Surveillance Centre Director, who suggested it only be done in appropriate and safe situations. More than 2,000 students in Changmai even gathered to Pubpeab as a symbol of support for the Thai General Election. From children to celebrities, this seems to be an activity for everyone any time, any place. Pictures have been uploaded from famous landmarks and exotic locations all over the world.
